Every corner of Oradea has its own history and meanings, and Rotary Club Oradea Art Nouveau wants to bring secret and charming places to the attention of the community. which give the uniqueness of our city.
The objective of the project is to restore the organ in the Zion Synagogue
The Sion Neolog Synagogue in Oradea is part of the Historical Center of the Oradea Municipality, being included in the List of Historical Monuments. The temple was built by the reformist Jews from Oradea in 1878, as a result of their separation from the Orthodox Jewish community.
This cult edifice has been restored, but "the organ, a very important decorative element in the synagogue, as well as sound and music during divine services" (source: Andrei Seidler, director of the Oradea Jewish Community Center), did not benefit from this.

That is why we considered it appropriate that the Oradea Art Nouveau Rotary Club support the integration of this defining element of the synagogue in a restoration process.
The first action dedicated to the restoration of the organ in the Zion Synagogue was in 2019, when the film Exodus of Souls by Oradea director Csaba Bereczki was screened. The second one took place in February 2020 when there was a Klezmer Music Evening!
On the stage of the Oradea State Philharmonic is a team of valuable and creative artists, known as Oradea Klezmer: Ary Nagy Sandor, Richard Balint, Andrian Locovei, Alexandru Szuz, Alina Leonte, Lorant Veres, Ion Pintea, Gerhard Bekes and Nagy Kalman., as well as Sebastian Lupu, faithful friend of Rotary Oradea Art Nouveau actions, joined our cause in order to support this project.
The rehabilitation of the monument marks the regaining of an emblematic building for the entire community by preserving its historical and architectural value in full authenticity
