Rotary Club Oradea Art Nouveau encourages young people
Rotary Club Oradea Art Nouveau encourages young people and supports projects that create value through education - our children's future and ours at the same time. This time, as a continuation of our actions, we turned our attention to a different kind of education - the non-formal one. Through our action, we addressed the students from Secondary School No. 1 Uileacu De Beiuș and those from the Secondary School in Madăras, where, in another project, we rehabilitated the school libraries. Now we have offered students from grades 6-8 an encounter with the world of theater.
Between July 1-5, 2023, we organized the second edition of the Art Education Camp TEA – Theater in collaboration with Artemotion Theatre.
We traveled with the help of our colleague Codruța Vancea, member of the Rotary Art Nouveau Club in the world of contemporary poetry and the children received poetry books for their library.
Then the children met the world of the Puppet Theater with the support of the actress Consuela Egyed.
They discovered secrets from the world of film and cartoon dubbing through the involvement of actor Petre Ghimbăşan.
The students played theater under the guidance of actor Sebastian Lupu.
On the last day of the camp, the little actors performed on the Arcadia Theater stage.
In this camp, the attention of the invited specialists was focused on teamwork, managing emotions, freedom of expression, vocal delivery and diction.
Actress Mirela Nita Lupu, member of the Oradea Art Nouveau Rotary Club, helped the children discover what is behind the scenes, how many creative artists are involved in making a show, how many professions join hands to make a theater show and how much passion there is in the team . Also, the children received as a gift for their school library the book "Jurnalul unei povesti or como am becomem puppet theater show for children" written by Mirela Niță Lupu, from which they can learn even more secrets about the journey from the story - play at the theater show. They also visited the Arcadia Theater and the Regina Maria Theater in Oradea.
Along with American Romanian Elementary School, coordinated by Dania Brădean, the children had interactive, funny and challenging activities with the aim of getting to know each other better and relating in different contexts.
The students in the camp had the support SOS Autism Association Bihor a meeting with children with special needs and participated in exciting interactive activities together. The purpose of this activity was to help children understand the importance of Pay it Forward and that there is a world of diversity that is part of our lives.
Guided by our friend Alex Trandafir, the children visited the Citadel of Oradei and took a tour of the city.
The children were accompanied by teachers from the two schools who were constantly with the little budding actors!!
At the same time, Oradea Art Nouveau Rotary Club members and aspiring members participated in the daily activities and provided support whenever needed! A beautiful team made the second edition of the Art-Theater Education Camp a success and we want to continue!
Everyone involved in this action left more curious and richer. They took a few steps through the magical world of the stage but also turned their attention to their own personalities. There were also some tears at parting which means there was friendship too.
See you at the 3rd edition in July 2024! Until then, keep close either to financially support our projects https://rotaryartnouveau.ro/fii-generos/,
either to involve you as volunteers in our actions https://rotaryartnouveau.ro/membrii-clubului-rotary-art…/!
