The school library from Pietroasa came to life! – The first library created
A new project of Oradea Art Nouveau Rotary Club.
Reading with a book in hand, reproducing the passion for reading, education in the countryside through the book from the Library - this is what we set out to achieve within the project "Our book of all days!"
We want to re-establish (or develop where they already exist) rural school libraries. By bringing reading back to the fore we can contribute to the elimination of functional illiteracy and school dropout by bringing together students, teachers and parents eager for a soul connection with the book.
We believe that the project is beneficial to the whole community, with a major impact on students, teachers and parents alike, drawing attention to the importance of reading and literacy as fundamental human rights.
Rotary Club Oradea Art Nouveau completed PRIMA library under this project at General School in Pietroasa, Bihor county. The project budget, by 5000 euros, was made from charity actions organized by our club:
- "History pages for our daily book", - "Cross - Health for the book".
At the same time, we benefited from the direct support of the Casa Publishing House and the companies Eberspacher and Nidec who supported us with books for the students of the General School in Pietroasa, as well as the support of a large Romanian furniture manufacturer who generously offered us part of the furniture .
We thus managed to create a school library with a number of 385 volumes, book storage furniture and reading space furniture: sofa, armchairs, chairs. We wish to be able to achieve in other schools in Bihor county school libraries. We believe in the education of children and the formation of future generations! These are priorities for a world that wants to be healthy and harmonious, for a world with a climate in which every child can discover and develop their true potential.
