BEAUTIFUL TEETH – HEALTHY CHILDREN

Dear partners,

The special importance of dental health for general health has become more and more obvious, representing not only an aesthetic problem, but a necessary component for the proper functioning of the entire organism.

The statistics show a serious deficiency in the dental hygiene of children in Romania, with dramatic consequences, most of the time without the possibility of treatment. Only 1/3 of Romanian children, aged between 10 and 14, use a toothbrush.

Toothpaste consumption in children aged between 10 and 14 is only 38 ml/year.

The number of toothbrushes used by children between the ages of 10 and 14 is only 0.35 pcs/year.

• Reduction by up to 50% of the number of caries in children, up to 14 years.
• Awareness of the importance of oral hygiene among children, teachers and parents.
• Laying the foundations of a national oral prophylaxis program for children.

The project is based onUm the following activities:

• the students will benefit from an initial consultation in which the state of oral health will be evaluated, followed by periodic checks until the 4th grade. The control will be carried out by the team of dentists involved in the implementation of this project.

• each child will receive 2 toothbrushes (one for home and one for school) and one toothpaste for home.

• the project provides for a competition with prizes between the selected classes, to motivate children to learn the correct tooth brushing techniques and healthy eating habits. (https://fundraising.rotarytriumph.ro/dinti-frumosi-copii-sanatosi/)
