Oradea is a museum city

In the elegant ambiance of Darvas-La Roche House, powered by Visit Oradea, I participated on Wednesday, March 26, in a video tour among the palaces that make up the valuable urban ensemble of Oradea, unique in this part of Europe, supported by the art historian and critic Ramona Novicov, associate professor at the Faculty of Construction, Cadastre and Architecture.
We were delighted to have our friends from Lions 22 Oradea and by the international team of young people present in Romania in the Rotary Youth Exchange program.
The idea was highlighted that at the beginning of the 20th century, when the modern era began, Oradea was a city perfectly integrated into the ambiance of the most modern European architectures, developing in unison with them. The speaker emphasized the decisive role played by the Jewish community made up of educated people with financial power, who made the idea of material and spiritual progress the goal of their lives. Especially in the historic center, majestic palaces rise, with a diversity of decorative motifs that continues to surprise.
The conclusion of the lecture was that Oradea is a city-museum whose architecture and urban charm must be rediscovered with an ever-renewed joy and admiration. Fluid, with an organic allure, or rigorously geometrized and stylized, the spectacular images that amplified the visual and emotional impact of the public were provided by Visit Oradea and Durans Press SRL, Ovi D. Pop.
